2017 Nissan Juke

Take a walk on the wild side with the 2017 Nissan Juke. This SUV definitely walks to the beat of its own drummer, starting with an exterior design you can mistake for no other. Drivers are thrilled each time they get behind the wheel, with road dynamics that are designed for solid acceleration and supreme handling. Many modern features, including active safety systems,  are also available, making this a vehicle you can love owning for years to come.

There are five different trim levels or versions of the Juke. Nissan loads each one with a different set of features, so you can find the combination that works best for you.

All Jukes feature the same 1.6-liter direct injection gasoline DOHC 16-valve turbocharged four-cylinder engine. On all but the Nismo models, it's tuned to put out 188 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. The Juke Nismo and Nismo RS hit even harder, topping out at 215 horsepower and 210 lb.-ft. of torque.

The standard configuration is front-wheel drive on all models. The two Nismos gain a helical limited-slip differential to help with traction. Even better, a torque vectoring all-wheel-drive system can be added to any trim, making the Juke even more suitable for driving in the snow. All but the Nismo models feature an Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT). A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the two Nismos, while the CVT is optional.

You enjoy road-carving control with the Juke. All models come with four-wheel disc brakes, providing excellent stopping power. Electronic brake force distribution and brake assist further enhance performance. The independent strut front suspension and torsion beam in the rear for front-wheel-drive models, balances handling with comfort. All-wheel-drive versions of the SUV use a multi-link independent rear suspension, improving handling further. Thanks to the vehicle-speed-sensitive electric power steering, you can maneuver through parking lots with little effort, and navigate down the highway with confidence. The two Nismo models have more sensitive steering and a stiffer suspension, engaging the driver even more.

Not only is the Juke a fun vehicle, it's also a safe one. The standard airbag system includes roof-mounted side curtains that provide coverage for both rows. The steering column and front/rear crumple zones are designed to absorb forces from a crash, stopping them from reaching the driver and passengers. High-strength steel beams are embedded in the doors, protecting everyone in a side impact. Vehicle dynamic control with traction control is always at work, automatically applying individual brakes and even reducing engine output as needed to keep the SUV on the road and upright.

The unique nature of the Nissan Juke is definitely felt in the cabin. The center console was designed to mimic a sport motorcycle, adding to the sporty vibe of the SUV. It can come finished in red or gunmetal, helping you to achieve the look of your dreams. The gauges were made to look like those used in motorsports by Nissan, making them simple to reference in a single glance. Sport bucket front seats hug your body as you glide through turns, so you don't go sliding out of place.
